REMINDER WHEN DEALING WITH THE PROBATE COURT

  1. Please make sure all documents are signed properly (ie. including notarized or witnessed)
  2. Please make sure that the case number (02-ES-10-245) and name is written on all correspondence sent to the Probate Court
  3. When requesting additional Certificate of Appointments or any other document that requires a fee - please enclose the fee with your request. When you mail your request, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for a speedy return.
  4. Please make an appointment when you want to come in and see the Clerk in charge of your estate.
  5. Remember that the Clerks are not attorneys and they are not allowed to give any legal advice or do the work for you.
  6. When you call to ask questions about a certain form, please refer to the form by its name and not by its form number.
  7. Please do your best to file all documents timely.
  8. Please call and check regularly for possible creditors.
  9. Have your case number ready when calling and ask for your Clerk by name.
  10. Please do not ignore the compliance letters that you receive asking for certain documents - if you do the next step is to rule you in before the Judge which will cost you hearing fees of $160.00 on an average.
